Food For Squirrels

Nuts: – Squirrels love nuts, especially peanuts, walnuts, almonds, and hazelnuts. You can offer them in shell or shelled, but make sure they are unsalted and not roasted.

Seeds: – Sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, and sesame seeds are all popular choices for squirrels. You can provide them raw or roasted, but avoid salted seeds.

Fruits: – Squirrels enjoy a variety of fruits, including apples, pears, grapes, berries, and bananas. Offer them fresh or dried fruits in small quantities.

Vegetables: – Squirrels also eat vegetables such as carrots, broccoli, squash, and leafy greens like lettuce and spinach. Cut vegetables into small pieces for easier consumption.

Corn: – Corn on the cob is a favorite treat for squirrels. You can offer them fresh corn or dried corn cobs, but avoid feeding them corn that has been treated with pesticides.

Insects: – Squirrels are omnivores and will eat insects as part of their diet. You can attract insects to your yard by leaving out fallen fruit or installing a bird feeder with mealworms or other live insects.
