Memorial Day Rolling Parade - Kingston
The Kingston Veterans Club will be organizing a rolling parade for Memorial Day. The vehicle only parade will start rolling at 1:00 PM Monday May 25, from Town hall and end on North Road just outside the fence at Greenwood cemetery. There, they plan to hold a short Memorial Day ceremony. Participants and observers must continue to practice social distancing and wear masks in the face of COVID 19 pandemic. The Governor has done a great job in making good recommendations while not actively having people arrested for non adherence. The club, in turn, needs to honor the respect he's showing us, by social distancing and masking for all those wanting to watch the vehicle only parade. The route this year is planned to be different: From Town Hall, head across the street to Kingston Pizza, left on West Main street, Right on Rockrimmon Road, Left onto Ball Road all the way to Danville Road. Left onto Danville Road, Left to Main Street, Follow West Main street past Carriage town plaza to Church Street, Left onto North Road, and parking at Greenwood cemetery. Everyone loves a parade and we expect our local police, fire and Veterans to be part of it, and encourage others that wish to properly observe memorial Day to participate in their vehicle practicing social distancing with a display of appropriate banners or flags.
