Candia Things To Do

LIGHTS ON THE HILL IN CANDIA

Celebrate Christmas at the annual "Lights on the Hill" festivities in Candia, NH .

The event is held the second weekend in December, this year Saturday, December 14th from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Activities happen in historic 19th century buildings beginning at the corner of Route 27 (High Street) and South Road in Candia (exit 3 off Rt. 101). Walk the beautiful village campus lined with hundreds of luminaries or ride the shuttle bus around to each site.

Admission is free. Help us support those in need by donating a hat or warm gloves or socks.

Toast a marshmallow or just warm your hands at the glowing campfire. Enjoy a light supper in the Café and top it off with a homemade dessert in the Bakery.

Children as well as adults will delight in seeing live nativity animals at the "Bethlehem" stable. The Heritage Commission will greet you at the Smyth Building, which is on the National Historic Register. View crèches from all over the world.

The Christmas Store is a delightful place to buy those inexpensive stocking stuffers. Elves are available to help your children purchase and wrap gifts for the entire family. Young adults will be drawn to the Coffeehouse to sip a cup of cappuccino while listening to acoustical music selections.

Christmas Shows have something for everyone - come enjoy the Granite State Cloggers, music from Jesse Remington High School, the Sugar Beats, drama and much more. Children's activities across the picturesque village campus include cookie decorating and craft making.
