Welcome to the Raymond Crafts Fair of 2019!

Yet another year of great crafters in 2019 and to all of you, thank you! To those of you thinking of Raymond for the first time, we look forward to making new friends. This year we expect to continue to expand the area in which we advertise. Last year we had sandwich-board advertising, newspaper (several around the state), as well as advertising on local radio stations to include local cable access as we continue to look at ways to expand the customer base. We issue multiple press releases in two groups: early for crafters and closer to the Fair date for customers.

Each year we attempt to improve the quality of the fair. To the best of our ability, we work to ensure the elimination of all non hand-made offerings and with your cooperation, we will succeed. Last year we managed to avoid having too many similar crafts (yes, unfortunately, we did turn some crafters away) and this year we plan the same. To help this, we ask crafters to please give accurate descriptions of ALL their crafts in the application and, if possible, a photo would be appreciated. The harder we all work to make the Fair successful, the better it is for everyone. The people who come to our Fair look for nice things at a fair price. High priced items, however beautiful, do not do well.

And to the Fair itself... We provide 8' x 8', 8’ x 10’, 8’ x 12’ or 8’ x 16’ and
8’ x 20’ indoor spaces, 2 chairs per space (extra on request), in a Holiday atmosphere.

We hope these sizes will help those of you who have 8’ tables and not enough room in an 8’ space, as well as those who need slightly more room than the 16’ space allows. We have hand trucks and volunteers to help with set-up and breakdown. We reserve the right to restrict numbers of the same type of craft. After unloading, crafters are required to park in a designated area away from the hall entrance in order to ensure easy access and parking for shoppers, persons with handicap parking permits excluded. If shoppers have to walk from the back parking lot they may not purchase as much to carry back to their vehicle.

Crafts: At the request of the vast majority of crafters, we limit participants to only hand-made crafts. Commercial items, Avon, Pampered Chef, etc., and commercial look-alikes (such as Beanie Babies) are strictly prohibited. Crafters with non hand-made items will first be asked to remove them from sale. Failure to do this will result in the crafter being asked to leave the fair immediately and application to future Fairs will be denied.

Raffles and Bake Sales: Raffles and bake sales are excluded from the craft fair.
Set-up and break down: Set-up time for the fair will be 7:00 - 9:00 AM sharp, please be prepared to wait if you arrive earlier than 7:00 am. Breakdown is from 3:00 - 5:00 PM; crafters closing prior to 3:00 PM without permission of the coordinator will be permanently excluded from future fairs! This is becoming a problem and we will strictly enforce this rule. It is not fair to the other crafters and sends the wrong message to shoppers that the fair is closing. You will NOT receive an application the following year in a timely manner if this rule is not met. All crafters are expected to be at their tables from 9 am to 3 pm, thank you very much to those that abide by this every year.

Tables: We are again offering tables for rent. The tables are approximately 2’ x 6’ and cost $10 each. Orders of the tables must be done with the application prior to the day of the fair. We hope this helps those of you who have trouble transporting a table.

Food: Food or beverages are NOT allowed in the gym, but an area adjacent to the gym will be set aside for this. Troop 101 will provide food for sale (hot and cold meals, drinks and snacks). If you would like a break and need assistance, please see one of the organizers and we would be happy to help.

Payment: Please complete the attached form and return it with your check as soon as possible to ensure a place and definitely no later than July 6, 2015. All checks are to be made payable to BSA Troop 101 with Craft Fair noted on the check memo. Payments are non-refundable. Footnotes: Last year we had quite a number of crafters who left applying to the last minute and were disappointed because the hall was full or there were already a number of similar crafts. We recommend you apply early to ensure a spot. Space is allocated on a first come, first served basis. Having a spot from the previous year does not guarantee that same spot the following year, though we always strive to place our crafters where they are comfortable.

Multiples of the same craft will be limited. Applications are automatically sent if you had a table at the fair within the last three years. We do our best to accommodate all space requests, but are limited with wall space or end space so we will do our best to supply spaces as requested.

Crafters that have end spaces fall under the SAME space rules as their neighbors and may NOT spread out into the pathways, exits, etc. SMOKING is strictly forbidden on school property and you will be asked to leave if failure of this rule is followed.

Don’t forget to leave yourself space to get in and out of your spot. An 8’ table in an 8’ space leaves no room to enter or exit and considerably inconveniences your neighbors. This will be strictly enforced by the local fire department.
