2016 State Candidates

Richard Rousseau for State Representative, Raymond
   11-1-16

As I go door to door talking to voters in Raymond about important issues, the number one question I get is: “Why are you running for state representative?” I am running for state representative in Raymond, which I have called home for 16 years, because this community has given me the chance to succeed.  I am incredibly grateful for that, and I want to give back to this town and state.

Over the past 16 years, I have been a devoted resident of the town of Raymond. Along with being a proud graduate of Raymond High School, I am currently finishing up a bachelor’s degree in Political Science at Keene State College. I have been involved in many activities in Raymond including Boy Scouts. I also have had the pleasure of being involved in community service projects throughout town, including food drives and collecting gifts for children in need during the holidays.

In the past few months, through a booth at the Raymond Town Fair, community events, and knocking on hundreds of doors, I have met many constituents. With these voters, I have had the chance to discuss and hear the issues about which the people of Raymond are concerned.

Richard Rousseau, Raymond

Whether it is working to make healthcare and education more affordable or promoting well-rounded solutions to the heroin crisis that has hit our state with devastating effects, we need somebody who will be practical. We need someone who will look at the pros and cons, will consider the future implications, and will make the decisions that are best both for the town of Raymond and the state in general. We need somebody who will weigh the outcomes and make good decisions. Not decisions based purely on partisan political ideology, but those based on what is best for our community and its citizens.

If elected, I am looking forward to working across the aisle to get things done for my town and state. It would be an honor to serve my community. If given the opportunity I will work to make it a better place for people the of New Hampshire: middle class families, small businesses, young people, seniors, and veterans. With my energetic and passionate spirit, I am the fresh candidate that Concord needs. Together we can move New Hampshire forward toward a brighter future. I hope that I can count on your support this November.

My endorsements include the National Education Association, the AFL-CIO, the American Federation of Teachers, and the Sierra Club.

I am always interested in hearing your input about the issues that affect you. If you have any questions, feel free to email me at Rich.R.Rousseau@gmail.com, call me at 603-793-4283 or talk to me at the polls on November 8th!
