Submitted by RHS Administration 10-28-15
Raymond High School is set to Participate in College Application Week Activities on November 16-20, 2015.
Raymond High School is participating in “I Am College Bound/I Applied” which aims to increase the number of high school seniors submitting college applications as part of the state’s “I Am College Bound” month celebration in November.
On Wednesday, November 18, 2015 Raymond High School seniors will have the opportunity to submit at least one college admissions application with the assistance of representatives from admissions offices from various NH colleges and universities during the school day at SHS.
“I Am College Bound/I Applied” focuses on providing assistance to students who may be the first in their family to attend college, low-income students and others who may be unfamiliar with the college application process. As part of the initiative, students will receive information about the additional components of a college application, college financial aid process and filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. Students will also be eligible to win a $500 scholarship for participating in the program.
The program, part of a nationwide initiative through the American Council on Education, is sponsored in New Hampshire by the New Hampshire Department of Education, New Hampshire Higher Education Assistance Foundation, and colleges and universities of the NH College & University Council. In 2014, 264 students from six public high schools submitted 533 college applications.
Other participating high schools include: Berlin High School, Concord High School, Kearsarge Regional High School, Keene High School, Laconia High School, Manchester Central High School, Manchester West High School, Newfound Regional High School, Newport High School, Portsmouth High School, Profile JR/SR High School, Somersworth, White Mountains Regional High School.
