By Cheryl Killam   10-26-18

Recycled Percussion visited Lamprey River Elementary School for an anti-bullying assembly as part of their “Chaos and Kindness” initiative.

Justin Spencer and Ryan Vezina hid 10 Easter eggs around the elementary school for the students to find. The first 5 eggs were searched for by the kindergarten and first graders while the other 5 eggs where searched for by the second, third and fourth graders.

The hallways were total “chaos” as all the kids ran around trying to find the eggs.

Justin told the students that each egg was worth $50 that would be donated to a charity of each student’s classrooms’ choice and each child who found the egg shared which charity they wanted to donate to.

Aubry said a nursing home, Javian – Toys for Tots, Hunter – a hospital, Trenton – nurses, Eva – Raymond Fire Department, Layla – people in need of homes, Ryder – Association for the Blind, Desiree – a cancer organization and Stanley – an animal organization.

Justin and Ryan had a drum battle then teachers Marlene Jones and Jenn Odstrcil had a drum battle.

Justin told the kids that they “always believe in doing something kind for other people. Then he had the kids repeat after him, “I will always be kind to other people”.

At the end, all the teachers were asked to do a 10 second dance off while all the students cheered their teachers on.
