Suzanne “Sue” Puchacz receives 2012 - 2013 NH Guidance Counselor of the Year Award
By Cheryl Killam 3-25-13

Suzanne Puchacz thought she was coming to the high school library after school, on Tuesday March 25th, to discuss a new Alternative Learning Program that is beginning on Wednesday, with the staff of the Raymond High School, but instead, about 40 school staff were there to congratulate her on being named New Hampshire Guidance Counselor of the Year.

Puchacz was nominated for the NH Guidance Counselor of the Year Award by Lamprey River Elementary School Assistant Principal Jayme Rodriguez.

Rodriguez said she nominated Puchacz because, “she is extremely dedicated, very thoughtful and she goes above and beyond to keep the students and the department running on track and smoothly.”

Kathleen Hoppa and Michelle Farrar, from the NH School Counselor Association, presented the award to Puchacz while the school staff listened and congratulated her.

Puchacz has worked in the Raymond school system for 13 years. Prior to transfering to the high school she taught in grades K- 8. Receiving this award was kept a secret by the staff and came as a complete surprise to her.
