Raymond Woman Causes Crash On Route 95 - 3-29-15

On March 29, 2015, at approximately 11:32 a.m., Troopers assigned to the New Hampshire State Police-Troop A barracks were called to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 95 northbound in the Town of North Hampton, NH.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2009 Toyota Corolla, being driven by Ann Caron, age 51, of Raymond, NH, was traveling northbound on Interstate 95.  Caron slowed and attempted to make a left turn onto the emergency vehicle only crossover just north of the open road tolling lanes.  A 2008 Pontiac Vibe, being driven by Thomas Robinson, age 63, of Newburgh, ME, was also traveling northbound a short distance behind Caron's vehicle.  As Caron attempted this illegal maneuver she turned directly into the path of Robinson's vehicle.  Both vehicles collided and blocked the left travel lane.

It was necessary to close the left two travel lanes for approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes as Troopers investigated this collision and for the removal of these vehicles.

Caron sustained minor injuries and was transported to the Exeter Hospital for treatment.  Robinson and his passenger sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

Investigation revealed the cause of this collision was directly attributed to Caron's attempt to take a left turn onto the restricted access crossover to reverse her direction.  She was issued a citation for making an unsafe lane change.

The New Hampshire State Police were assisted at the scene by members of the North Hampton Fire Department.

This accident is being investigated by TFC Michael Shupe.  Anyone with further information is asked to contact TFC Shupe/NH State Police/Troop A, at 603-223-8490.
