Frank Bourque Remembered in Donation Ceremony to Special Olympics

The late Frank Bourque of Raymond is being remembered in a brief donation ceremony to be held during the ribbon cutting Saturday, Dec. 9 from 10 to 10:30 a.m., when Cardi's Furniture and Mattresses opens its first store in New Hampshire.

Cardi’s is at 272-1 Lafayette Road in Seabrook in the Seacoast Shopping Center.

The brief ribbon cutting ceremony will include Cardi's and Ocean State Job Lot Charitable Foundation’s donation to the New Hampshire Special Olympics. The ribbon cutting will take place indoors in the Cardi’s showroom.

A financial and in-kind donation will be presented to Special Olympics New Hampshire’s “Manchester Sharks” swim team in honor of Bourque (1961-2017), a Job Lot employee whose daughter, Katie, is a member of the swim team. Sandy Bourque, Frank’s widow, and Katie will cut the ribbon of Cardi’s newest store.

Job Lot opened its Seabrook store last March, one of 15 in New Hampshire, and Cardi's new store is next door.

Among those attending the ceremony will be the 18 members of the Manchester Sharks Swim Team and their families; Ron and Nick Cardi, partners of Cardi’s Furniture; Ocean State Job Lot Charitable Foundation Executive Director David Sarlitto; Dottie McDonnell, swim team head coach; Mary Conroy, Special Olympics New Hampshire President; State Representative Jason Janvrin (Seabrook-District 20); State Senator Dan Innis (Seabrook/Stratham-District 24); Seabrook Town Manager William Manzi; and Hampton Area Chamber of Commerce representative Rusty Bridle.
