Raymond High School Alumni Association 2017 Golf Outing Nets $11,708

The 15th annual RHS Alumni Association golf outing was held June 20 at Candia Woods.  The winning team with a gross of 62 was awarded to Jay Long, Gary Knowlton, Glenn Gosselin and Frank Cramb. First net with a 54 was the team of Larry Martin, Jack Ornell, Mike Foley and Ed Daniels. Second net with a 55 was the team of Jim Smith, Chris Derzanski, Gary Marcotte and Scott McLaughlin.  Third net at 56 went to the team of Jason LaRochelle, Matt LaRochelle, Brent Norris and Mike Cyr.

The winning all ladies team with a low gross of 67 was Denise Johnson, Sue Vaillancourt, Amy Callen, and Jan Wheelock.

Low net for the all ladies team with 60 went to Cathy Snell, Janet Travis, Sandra Weaver, and Pat Manseau.

Special prizes were awarded:   Longest Drive on Hole #10 for Senior Men to Grover Eaton and Longest Drive for Men under 75 to Ryan Johnson.  Longest Drive on Hole #10 for Senior Ladies to Sally Paradis and Longest Drive for Ladies under 75 to Amy Callen.  Nearest to Pin on Hole #8 to Cynthia Ross and Nearest to Pin on Hole #15 to Denise Johnson.    Putting Contest winner was Jay Long.

The event’s Platinum Donor was I. C. Reed & Sons, Inc.  The event’s Gold Donor was John (Jack) Ornell, RHS Class of 1975. Silver Donors were Seacoast United Sports, Inc., McDonald’s of Raymond, Hi-Volt Electric Line Construction, Walmart Distribution Center of Raymond, and Wayne Neimi, Class of 1970.
Bronze Donor sponsorships were shared by D. F Richard Energy, Inc., Gemini Valve, Hurd-Welch Post 90 American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, and Littlewoods Landscaping.

Raffle prizes or cash were received from area businesses and friends including Ben Franklin Store, Candia Woods, Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Manchester, Cornerstone Physical Therapy Associates, LLC,  Flowers by Tammie, Fremont Pizzeria, Jackson Lumber & Millwork, McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center, Andy Maloney, Neighborhood Insurance Agency, Inc., Onway Wood Working,  Piney Woods Farm, Pizza by George, Raymond Hannaford, Rite Aid, Salon 27, Scissors Edge Salon, T-Bones and Cactus Jack’s, Tuckaway Tavern & Butchery.

Morning coffee and doughnuts were served during golfers’ registration for the 15th consecutive year, compliments of Dunkin Donuts of Raymond!

Thanks to WJ Stewart Insurance Agency and Greg’s Classic Auto for sponsoring the Hole-in-One contest on Hole #5.  Alas, no one walked away with the vintage automobile or cash equivalent.

Sponsorships were received from the Bailey Family, Houle Family, Ingalls Family, Mandile Family, Waterhouse Family, Welch Family, Class of 1951, Class of 1957, Class of 1966, Girls in Class of 1970,
Class of 1974.

Memorial sponsorships were received for Deceased Members in Classes of 1965, and 1970 and Deceased RHS Alumni from Deerfield.  Also, Bernice McFarland Perkins ’50, Thomas J. Robinson ’50, Joanne Rock Welch, ’62, Frank Langford ’62, Bruce Clark ’64, Scott Griffin ’82, Also, the Cote Twins, Leo Plante, Irene and Don Smith, Jean and John Fernald, Ed and Jean Moulton, Sylvia Saunders, Hazel J. Bailey, Gordon and Helen (Greenwood) Cammett and their daughters Kathy and Susie, and grandson Greg Lafond, Wheadon VFW Post #4479, and also a sponsorship giving thanks for the lives of Edward and Charlena Thompson.

The big winner of the day was the RHS Alumni Scholarship Fund that realized $11,279 from the event.

The Association is proud to announce that since 2000, $118,000 has been awarded to RHS seniors by the Association through the proceeds of the annual golf outing.  The Association extends its thanks and appreciation to ALL those who contributed to the success of the outing this year in any way—you are all on a winning team!
