Raymond Coalition for Youth Summer Series Jumps Off To A Great Start!
Submitted by Celeste Clark  7-18-14

Over 100 children and their parents attended the first RCFY Summer event of 2014 on Thursday July 17. The event featured a Carnival theme with Pluck A Duck, Donut on a String, Face Painting, sand art and more.  Jumpy Houses and DJ services were generously provided by Yoshi-D Entertainment.

A big Thank you to our amazing volunteers and Youth Action students who helped to make each game, popcorn and drink station a success.

This event was planned by our RCFY Youth Action members with support from RCFY Program Coordinator Jen Darois.  They are a great team and did an AMAZING job!  Special recognition goes to Racheal Cormier, who as a previous Youth Action member, had been a part of working on our Summer Series for the past few years.  Her determination and dedication to seeing that this event was successful was admirable.  Her smile seeing the many people in attendance having so much fun was her reward.

This event provided fun for all ages.  Teens were able to have fun being positive role models with the young children in attendance and by participating in some of the activities themselves.  Parents had an opportunity to get out of the house and see other parents for some adult conversation knowing their children were safe and having fun.

RCFY has two more summer events coming up. This years events are being held behind the Raymond Middle School. The next is on Thursday July 31 and features water fun!  Bring your bathing suit or at least prepare to have fun and possibly get wet.

Our last event is on Thursday August 14 and will be a BBQ and movie (to be announced).

Volunteers are the only human beings on the face of the earth who reflect this nation's compassion, unselfish caring, patience, and just plain love for one another.

Never before has man had such a great capacity to control his own environment, to end hunger, poverty and disease, to banish illiteracy and human misery.

We have the power to make the best generation of mankind in the history of the world.
