The Local Lions Club Provides Automatic Door Opener to Ray-Fre Senior Center
By Cheryl Killam 6-14-18

The idea of installing an automatic door opener at the Ray-Fre Senior Center was suggested by Lions Club members, Jeff Richards of Cornerstone Physical Therapy and Dave Turcotte of Riverbend Real Estate.

The two part electric opener, with one hand button outside the door on the brick wall and the other hand button inside the door, was installed by Granite State Glass.

The electrical wiring was completed by Wayne Jenks of Universal Wiring.

The Raymond Lions Club serves Raymond, Candia and Fremont and welcomes new members.

Recently reinvigorated with an energetic group of volunteers, the club has a full slate of activities and projects, all benefiting the local community. “Everything we do is volunteer, and 90 percent of what we take in is put back into the local community,” said David Turcotte of Raymond, the club president. The rest is used for club supplies or contributions to the broader Lions organization.

The next project the Lions Club hopes to take on before winter is repacing the windows in the Ray-Fre Senior Center.

Never before has man had such a great capacity to control his own environment, to end hunger, poverty and disease, to banish illiteracy and human misery.

We have the power to make the best generation of mankind in the history of the world.
