Flint Hill Conservation Easement Has Been Signed
by Cheryl Killam     4-6-15

The Flint Hill Conservation Easement was signed at the Raymond Board of Selectmen meeting on Monday,  April 6,  by Chairman Greg Bemis, Vice Chair Colleen West Coates, Wayne Welch, Jack Barnes and Jonathan Wood.

The voters approved the easement on the 145 acres in 2009 with a vote of 601 in favor to 352 opposed on warrant article 28.   Prior boards of selectmen failed to follow the will of the people and get the work completed.

The easement is being held by Bear-Paw Regional Greenways of Deerfield, NH  while the town still owns the land for forestry, agriculture and  outdoor recreation including  hunting, bicycling, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.

A 2010 town ordinance prohibits the use of Off-Highway Recreational Vehicles (OHRV’s) on the Flint Hill property.  Ref. (281-1 OHRV Restrictions )

Conservation Easements are filed with the Rockingham County Registry of Deeds.
