Raymond Tax Rate Rises for 2015, Bills Due Dec. 1

Raymond taxpayers won't be happy when they open their tax bills this week.
 
The selectmen approved setting the rate at their Monday, Oct. 26 meeting. Tax bills were to be sent out Thursday or Friday, Oct. 29 and 30, and are due Dec. 1.

The total tax rate for 2015, after being finalized with the New Hampshire Department of Revenue Administration (DRA), comes in at a total of $25.08 per $1,000 of assessed home value.

The rate breaks out as follows: The town rate is set at $6.66, up 14 cents from last year; the county rate is $1.04, up a penny from last year; the state education rate is $2.37, up a penny from last year; and the local school rate is $15.01, up 59 cents from last year.
