Hampstead Lieutenant Robert Kelley Promoted to Deputy Chief
By Penny Williams    7-10-2020

Robert Kelley has been in law enforcement for 20 years and has risen through the ranks from patrolman to Deputy Chief of the Hampstead Police Department.

Kelley started his law enforcement career in Sandown in 2000 and was hired by Hampstead in 2005 as a patrolman. In 2007 he was promoted to Detective and served in that capacity for 7 years. In 2014 he was promoted to Sergeant and in 2019 he was promoted to Acting Lieutenant.

His chief,  Joe Beaudoin, can't say enough good things about the service and dedication of Kelley to the Hampstead Police Department and community. He makes it very clear that Kelley has been a huge help to him  over the years and that when John Frazer was the department's  Lieutenant, Kelley was a big help to him as well. Beaudoin stated that he couldn't run the department without Kelley and that he has been his "go to guy" over the years and that he absolutely deserves this promotion.

Wife Jaclyn and youngest son Camden pinning on Robert Kelley's new Deputy Chief rank during the promotion ceremony held Tuesday, July 7, at the Hampstead Police Station.

The Hampstead Police Department officers along with retired Lt. Frazer and Selectmen Sean Murphy and Joe Guthrie were present for the promotion ceremony as were Kelley's wife Jaclyn and his sons Cooper 15 and Camden 9, and his parents and siblings and friends. Also present were Fire Chief Michael Carrier, Deputy Fire Chief Wil Warnock, and Captain Chris Dane. Murphy swore Kelley in and his son Cooper pinned the Deputy Chief badge supplied by Beaudoin who had received it from Chief Letoile years back for Kelley to wear until his own badge arrives. Kelley's wife and younger son Camden pinned on the other Deputy Chief rank.

Kelley said, "I am very honored to be promoted and to serve such a great community. I greatly appreciate the support of my family, friends, coworkers, Chief Beaudoin, and the Hampstead Board of Selectmen."
