Businesses Aplenty in Raymond

Some residents continue to say that Raymond taxes are too high and that Raymond needs more businesses to lower taxes. Our town tax is $6.22 and the school tax is $14.73 for a total (including county and state school) of $24.20.

If that's the case, then why are Epping's taxes higher when they have all those businesses up and down route 125? The Epping town tax is $5.09 and the Epping school tax is $17.38 for a total tax (including county and state school) of $25.94 .

Take a look at Exeter with all its businesses, its tax rate is $26.67, and Hooksett, also with businesses, is $26.74. Derry is $28.86 and Concord is $27.67. Even Brentwood at $24.79 is higher than Raymond.
