Raymond Man Arrested On Multiple Arson Charges - 5-5-15

New Hampshire State Fire Marshal J.William Degnan and Raymond Police Chief David Salois announce that an arrest has been made in reference to a series of fires and attempted fires that occurred in Raymond, Epping, and the surrounding communities.

This evening, officers with the Raymond Police Department and the NH State Fire Marshal’s Office arrested Gregory Bruno, age 28 of Raymond, NH. Bruno was charged with Three (3) felony charges for Arson, Burglary, and Cruelty to Animals and nine (9) misdemeanor charges for Arson, Attempted Arson, and Attempted False Public Alarm. Additional felony and misdemeanor charges are likely.

Following his arrest, Bruno was ordered held on cash-only bail and transported to the Rockingham County House of Corrections. Bruno will be arraigned in Candia Circuit court Tuesday morning.

This arrest was the columniation of a months-long joint investigation by officers of Raymond Police Department; NH State Fire Marshal’s Office; Epping Police Department, and the Stratham Police Department. This task force of officers’ wishes to thank the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Department, the New Hampshire State Police, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) for their assistance during the course of the investigation.

Fire Marshal Degnan would like to remind our citizens that arson is not a victimless crime, and that any intentionally set fire can jeopardize public safety. Nationwide, intentional set fires cause over 400 deaths, 1,300 injuries, and $1.3 billion dollars in direct property damage annually.
