"Want Waffles", home to the best Waffle Lolly’s ever, is now open at Roselynn Ice Cream in Epping on Rt 27. New to the Seacoast, Waffle Lollys are authentic Belgium waffles served on a stick, dusted with powdered sugar and drizzled with gourmet chocolate, real maple syrup or whipped cream. Sweet and Savory Crepes are also on the Menu.
"They are to die for", says Want Waffles owner Christine Minnix, of Hampton, who adapted the Waffle Lolly from her native country of Belgium where authentic Belgium waffles aren't eaten as a breakfast dish but more so as a casual snack food and dessert. "They are crispier and airier than the breakfast waffle. They are light and delicious so you can enjoy them throughout the day guilt-free." The Savory crepes are filled with a homemade white sauce and ham, turkey or chicken with broccoli, mushrooms, onions or tomatos topped with cheddar, swiss or 6 Italian cheese. The Sweet crepes are topped with homemade Ice Cream or filled with Nutella , fresh fruit and so much more.
The whole secret is in the batter. Minnix combined her grandmother’s batter recipe with the knowledge of a waffle guru (4 generations) from the Cremerie George in Oostende, Belgium. Want Waffles is located at Roselynn Ice Cream, 153 Exeter Rd in Epping, which is open 7 Days from 10 am - 9 pm. Waffles and crepes are served from 10am to 4pm.
